This wonderful National Park is located in The Andes, Colombia. Its surface area belongs to the Departments of Calda, Quindio, Risaralda and Tolima which have different climate levels that creates Andean Forest, Moors and Glaciers. It also gathers watersheds of rivers such as Otun, Lagunillas, Guali, among others.

At the Park there is the Nevado del Ruiz, Santa Isabel, Tolima, El Cisne, Quindío and Paramillo of Santa Rosa. This group belongs to one of the country’s largest  volcanic complex. It is important to point out its numerous thermal springs which makes this incredible Park a place to connect with nature and well-being

Generally the tour start at 6:00 am from Manizales and it ends 12 hours later at the starting point, which is perfect because our Hacienda is located only 20 minutes away from the city of Manizales. In order to enjoy the tour, we recommend you to wear comfortable clothes, hat, sunscreen, sports shoes, sunglasses, swimsuit to use at the thermals and great attitude to enjoy all the wonders that this ecosystem offers in every place during the journey.


Fauna and flora

Along the way you will be able to see a wide range of birds. The Colibri of the Moor is one of the most outstanding thanks to his beauty. Also you will see the Monte Partridge, Black Mirla and different kind of pavas are some of the endemic birds that can be easily to came across with. As for the mammals, you can observe the Dwarf Squirrel, the Tapir of the paramo and the Spectacled Bear.

In the valley of the andean forest you can appreciate the Palm Wax, in the high andean forest you can see amazing trees of more than 30 meters tall and in the moor you will find Frailejones and Pujas which are a fundamental part of this ecosystem.

Celebrar el amor, la amistad y los momentos felices no tiene horario ni fecha en el calendario, como dice la canción. Sin embargo, ¡no podemos olvidarnos de las tradiciones! Entre ellas, el Día de San Valentín, que se celebra el 14 de febrero en países como Estados Unidos, Inglaterra, Francia, Chile, Cuba, Ecuador, Puerto Rico, República Dominicana y Uruguay, donde no faltan las flores, cartas o bombones, entre otros.

Esta costumbre tiene su origen en el Imperio Romano y se remonta al siglo III. En la edad media, se hacía referencia al Dios romano Cupido y las personas expresaban sus sentimientos a través de poemas románticos. Por otro lado, según la tradición cristiana, San Valentín ponía en riesgo su vida para unir a las parejas en matrimonio (también se manifiesta que las aves inician su época de apareamiento el 14 de febrero).

Años después se incluyó la amistad como parte de esta celebración y dio lugar en la época de la revolución industrial, para incluir con métodos de mercadeo productos relacionados con esta fecha. Esta oportunidad es propicia para expresar el amor y el cariño que tenemos a nuestros seres queridos sin importar nuestra orientación sexual o creencias religiosas.

Manizales Fair

In 2019 The Manizales Fair will celebrate its 63rd anniversary. It is considered the most important festival in the capital of the department of Caldas for its mixture of tradition, art, and culture. In 2018 nearly 400,000 tourists visited the fair and visitors will continue to enjoy the fair for years to come.

In each version, a bullfighting spectacle is offered that attracts locals and foreigners to experience the “brave party” in its own flesh, with a poster of international stature, where lovers of this show enjoy each corrida to the fullest. This great event of the city was inspired by the April fair in Seville in Spain and adapted to the coffee culture. The human warmth of the caldense that receives thousands of tourists year after year, proves that it is really “The Best Fair in America”.

Within the framework of this celebration, tourists and locals can enjoy musical events such as Cantinazo Mix, which will take place on January 5 and will feature artists such as Piso 21, Zodiac Orchestra, New Swing Sextet, Yelsid, Kevin Roldán, and Jorge Celedón. As well as, exhibitions of handicrafts, a carriage parade, horseback riding, sporting events, rumba tents, carriage race of balineras, trova festival, the tango via, concerts for all tastes, traditional arrierías and a pyrotechnics show for all the city.


One of the most important events of the Fair is the International Coffee Reign, which has candidates from different countries of the world, where coffee is part of its economy and the city promotes this product as an emblem of the region. This will be the No. 48 delivery of this award and it will take place on January 12.
